

Mountain View UMC welcomes Jakie Holland and family as their pastor on July 1, 2026. She was born July 13, 1978, in Chattanooga, TN. She has lived in Dunlap, TN, her whole life. She is the daughter of Lisa A. Miller and the late Harold A. Miller. She has 1 brother. She is married to Chris Holland and has 2 children, Austin Holland, 22, and Makayla Holland, 13. Her hobbies include singing, gardening, painting, and acting/singing in plays/musicals with her daughter.
Jakie last served at Wesley Memorial in Etowah, TN as the Youth Sunday School teacher and Certified Lay Minister for the past year. Prior to this, she served at Welch Chapel UMC in Dunlap as the Children’s Church Teacher and Lay Servant Leader, including singing in the choir for a year.
She has been a follower of Jesus Christ since she was 4 years old and went to Fredonia Church of God as a young child, along with visiting multiple Baptist churches in town with her friends. As a young adult, Jakie and her family became serving members for the Dunlap Church of God for 16 years prior.
Jakie served as a youth teacher for the young children’s church age group, 2 years-6 years, when her own children were young. She then kept serving as a children’s church teacher for 4 more years. She and her husband have served on the Church Operations Committee, along with filling in as a lay minister for several pastors, including the late Brandon Gates. Her most interesting fill-in was that for a Radio Ministry for Bro. Buster Brymer in Tracy City, TN. She has also enjoyed singing for the Praise Team/Choir during her years of service. Jakie has served as a facilitator for the Transformation Project for many years, helping others to build or rebuild their relationship with Jesus Christ and letting go of life-controlling problems.
She is a 1996 graduate from Sequatchie County High School in Dunlap, TN. In 1997, she obtained her certificate as a certified nursing assistant. She later followed through in 2001, graduating from Chattanooga State Technical Community College with her Associate’s degree as a Registered Nurse. Jakie later completed her Bachelor’s in Health Administration through the University of Phoenix in 2010. She has worked for Sisken Hospital, Erlanger Hospital, and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for many years. She is currently at NHC of Sequatchie serving as RN/CNA Instructor/Staffing Coordinator. She has a heart for caring for others and teaching others the basic nursing skills. Her students range from 16 yrs. old to older adult looking for a career change.
Jakie has a heart to teach and minister to others who find themselves looking to know more about Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. She shares about her relationship with Christ with others. Her journey is evident through her actions. Her mission is to see every age person accept Christ as their personal savior and become a disciple.
